At inKind I helped build scalable systems, refine user experience, and align design strategy with the needs of both restaurant partners and everyday diners. This helped shape the product’s evolution into a seamless dual-sided marketplace, balancing financial tools for operators with intuitive loyalty and discovery features for guests.
Challenge
At inKind the main challenge was creating a system that helped level up their design org. Prior to my arrival, the product design system wasn't organized or efficient, and did extremely well to gatekeep and limit growth.
My Role
As Product Design Director, my role was to refine the product design process, educate existing and new team members on that system, help oversee product initiatives, create new concepts and ideas from 0 to 100, while reporting to the SVP of Product.
Outcome
The immediate outcome was a far more communicative, contextual and better source-of-truth design process within Figma that allowed for smooth collaboration between departments and teams. Product and feature launches went up 50% quicker than before, and updates even quicker. A longer lasting outcome was the growth and scale of the team; onboarding became significantly easier within the product team the barrier of entry lowered.
